By using MediaFetches you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
What MediaFetches is
MediaFetches retrieves publicly accessible media files and converts them to common formats (MP4 video, MP3 audio) so you can save a copy. It is a general-purpose tool. It does not host, index, or supply any media of its own.
What it will not do
MediaFetches is deliberately built not to circumvent technical protections. It does not remove or work around digital rights management, does not defeat sign-in or paywalls, does not use anyone's credentials, and cannot reach private or restricted content. Requests for content that requires any of those things will fail, and that is by design.
Your responsibilities
- Only download content you own, content you have permission from the rights holder to download, or content whose licence allows it (for example a Creative Commons licence or material in the public domain).
- Respect the terms of service of the sites you use MediaFetches with. Some sites prohibit downloading; that agreement is between you and them.
- Do not use MediaFetches to infringe copyright, to redistribute someone else's work as your own, or for any unlawful purpose.
- Do not attempt to overload, probe or interfere with the service, circumvent its rate limits, or use it to reach systems that are not publicly accessible.
You are solely responsible for the links you submit and for what you do with the files you receive.
Rights in the content
MediaFetches claims no ownership of, and grants no rights to, any media you download through it. All rights remain with their respective owners. Using this tool does not give you a licence to any content.
Availability
The service is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis, with no guarantee of availability, accuracy or fitness for any particular purpose. Some sites change frequently and may stop working without notice. Prepared files are deleted automatically a short time after they are ready; they are not a storage service and must not be relied on as one.
Rate limits and fair use
Each download consumes real processing time and bandwidth, so requests are rate limited. Automated or bulk use may be blocked. We may restrict or withdraw access where use is abusive or endangers the service for others.
Takedown
MediaFetches stores no media library, so there is generally nothing to take down. If you believe the service is being used to infringe your rights, use our copyright and takedown page with the details and we will respond.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MediaFetches and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of profits, or any claim brought by a third party in relation to content you downloaded.
Changes
These terms may be updated. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
