MediaFetches is a tool for saving media files. No account or sign-in is required to use the downloader. This page describes what information is involved in a download and what happens when you contact the operator.

What we do not collect

• MediaFetches does not require you to create an account, sign in, or maintain a user profile.
• We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or location.
• We do not intentionally keep a permanent record linking a download job to you as an individual.
• We do not ask for account passwords, authentication codes, or recovery codes to process a public media URL.

Information you voluntarily provide through the contact form

If you contact MediaFetches through the contact form, we collect the information you choose to submit, including your name, email address, subject, and message. We use this information to respond to your enquiry, provide support, investigate reported problems, and handle privacy, copyright, or takedown requests.

Submitted contact messages are stored in the MediaFetches server-side database so that they can be reviewed and answered. We do not use contact-form details to create user accounts or public profiles.

Contact messages may also be forwarded by email when outbound SMTP email is configured for this installation. If email forwarding is not configured, the message is still retained in the application's contact-message store.

What happens when you download something

When you submit a link, our server visits that public page, reads the media information, and — if you choose a quality — fetches the file, converts it if necessary, and holds it just long enough for your device to collect it.

• The link you submit is used to perform the download and is held in the server's memory for the life of that job. It is not written to a database and is not stored after the job expires.
• The prepared file is written to a temporary directory on the server and is deleted automatically 30 minutes after it is ready, or sooner if disk space needs reclaiming. It is reachable only through a single-use, unguessable link that is never published or indexed.
• Download statistics are recorded as counts only: the date, whether the media was video or audio, and which platform the source domain belongs to. No URL, no IP address, and nothing that identifies a person is kept in this record. It exists so the operator can see how busy the service is.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours records the requests it receives — method, path, and timestamp. Query strings are deliberately stripped before logging, so the link you submitted and the one-time download token never appear in a log file. Your IP address is processed transiently to apply rate limits and is not retained in an identifiable log.

Cookies and consent preferences

MediaFetches uses browser storage and a first-party consent cookie to remember whether you have accepted or declined optional advertising. The site may store a consent preference locally in your browser so that the consent banner does not have to ask the same question on every visit.

When advertising consent is given and advertising is enabled, MediaFetches may also use its first-party consent cookie to make the consent decision available to the server before advertising content is rendered.

You can change your choice later using the Cookie settings option available in the website footer, or by changing your browser's site-data settings.

Third parties

By default the site loads nothing from anyone else. Fonts, icons and scripts are all served from this domain rather than a content delivery network, so opening MediaFetches does not tell any third party that you did. The one exception is video thumbnails, which are shown directly from the source platform's own image servers — your browser requests those from, for example, YouTube, exactly as it would if you were on YouTube.

Adsterra advertising

When MediaFetches enables Adsterra advertising, Adsterra acts as a third-party advertising provider for the advertising content displayed on the site. Depending on the ad format, campaign, browser, and applicable settings, Adsterra or other advertising technology involved in serving an ad may use cookies, identifiers, pixels, or similar technologies to deliver ads, measure advertising performance, manage frequency, prevent fraud, or support relevant advertising.

Advertising technologies may communicate with third-party servers when an ad is requested or displayed. The information handled by those third parties is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies as applicable.

MediaFetches does not control the exact cookies or technologies used by every advertising campaign served by a third-party network. For current information about Adsterra's handling of cookies and related technologies, please review Adsterra's Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy.

Children

MediaFetches is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

A contact message can contain personal information such as your name and email address. If you want a message or information you submitted through the contact form looked up, corrected, or removed, use the contact form and describe the request. The operator will investigate the request against the records held by this installation. Downloader requests are not linked to those contact records.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
